Charles Reemelin immigrated from Germany in 1832 and settled his and other German families in Dent, Ohio, where he began a wine industry. He was elected to the Ohio Legislature and Senate, served as a bank examiner and established the reform farm for boys in Lancaster, Ohio. Reemelin was a reformer, orator and writer.
